As practising lawyers of Delhi High Court, we are often faced with the situation where the entire digital record of a case is available but the orders are not downloaded in a single file. The Hon’ble High Court’s website only permits downloading of single orders which can be time consuming and laborious.
Therefore, in collaboration with my lovely wife Gurmeet, who works in technology sector, I have made a small tool which can download and compile all orders of any Delhi High Court case instantly. The orders are arranged as you would expect in any order file, the latest order comes first and the earliest order goes last. Here’s a link to the free tool
The tool has been vibe coded (for the lack of skill and time) and has been in the works for 2-3 months while it was being tested by myself and some of my colleagues at Karanjawala & Co. One major hurdle was handling of pre-2015 orders. These orders are not available in pdf format and only bare text of these orders is available. This meant the tool had to devise two mechanisms for taking out orders from the servers of Delhi High Court.
This was initially a personal project to help myself at times when physical order files are not readily available or a when counsel being briefed in a matter requires a particular order to be found. The moment the tool started working, I wanted to share it to my colleagues at the bar and public at large.
I hope the tool can be of help! Please provide your feedback and feature requests.
